This is only of interest to those who are in Bus134C. SAM is an organization here on campus at SJSU. The below information will help you understand a little better who I am trying to target with this site in mind. My target audience is SJSU students with business related degrees (Business majors, Advertising, Communications, etc.). The way in which I would plan on generating traffic to this site are 1)To create a link through the College of Business web site under the clubs and organizations section, 2)To put fliers on information boards around campus where I know there is a high volume of business related majors looking, 3)Have teachers make a brief announcement about the club and tell people to go to our web site for more information, 4)Team up with other clubs (like the Marketing Association, which we have) and have them make announcements. Many people are involved in more than one club. I am expecting that most peoples web experience is fairly sophisticated. In effort to better prepare us for our careers, SJSU has put special emphasis in requiring that students do much of their submitting and research through the internet. This is due to the environment in which exists today. Peopl in general have become more and more web dependent. I think it is fair to assume that majority of the SJSU students, especially business related have a considerable amount of web experience. This site is fairly basic in its approach and could cater to the most sophisticated user down to the basic user. I think it is guides the user easily through each section the site. I think most people's software capabilities would be able to handle a simple web site such as this. This site does not require individuals to download any software, which can be confusing to the user. I would assume most everyone who has internet access would have the appropriate software for navigating this site. This site serves to provide information such as events and important dates to those who are already existing SAM members. It is a resource for them to use to find out what is going on with their club and communicate with the other members. For those who are not SAM members it gives them the opportunity to check out SAM see what we are all about without having the pressure of attending a meeting to find out if the organization fits them. We felt that putting up a Web site might help attract more people to the club. I thik many clubs lose a certain amount of membership because people who would be interested are sheepish about having to go to an actually meeting to find out about the club. So they just don't go at all. Hope this gives everyone a better idea of what my site is all about. Please scroll through and give me some feedback. Some information is fictional so please do not call the phone numbers listed on the site. The pictures used were pulled from the tripod web site (all copyright information is on the pictures themselves), and the very last picture on the Contact Page is my picture from my files of me and my cat! Thank you. Thanks for visiting!! Click here to email me with any suggestions or comments!
